the works of olivier de bayonne

"che porà dir chi per amor sospira, / s' altra speranza le mie rime nove / gli avesser data et per costei la perde?"

(what can some lover say, if my youthful rhymes had given him another hope and he loses it because of her?)
-Francesco Petrarca, Rime 60, Rime Sparse (sometimes called the Canzoniere) 14th c. (ll. 9-11)

While I mainly prefer the works of the troubadours, Middle English lyricists, and Geoffrey Chaucer, I find myself from time to time interested in various other potential languages and verse forms: sometimes it's because someone wants me to write in a particular style, while other times I just want to explore the possibilities in order to see if I understand it properly (if at all).

So, here are the pieces I've written that fall outside of my usual areas of interest:

Italian

Rime 1 - "Errante in la foresta scura, io soffro"

Old Spanish
